Update from Administrator – December 31, 2020

December 31, 2020

Dear Families,

As always, our team and I hope this email finds you safe and healthy.  We wish you a blessed, safe and healthy New Year!

Unfortunately, I must report the identification of a resident who has tested positive through our diligent testing. We have also identified an employee who was positive.  We will continue testing and reporting at regular intervals as required by CMS, CDC and DPH.

We are reminding our staff to not only practice safeguards against COVID in our center, but to be vigilant outside of our center and share these practices with their friends and loved ones. We still ask you to do your part while in your community and PLEASE wear your mask, wash your hands, and watch your distance. Please promote these very simple precautions with your extended family and friends.

Some updates

  • Our New Year has been planned with a special ‘Happy Hour’ which will include hors d’oeuvres tonight and a special meal on the first. The breakfast meal will consist of a French toast casserole and ham.  The dinner meal includes herbed chicken, orzo and asparagus.
  • We have added a Resident Ambassador to our ranks. This individual is responsible for interacting with all residents, spending time with them on a one to one basis, orchestrating an activity, should they prefer and/or assisting in the resolution of any concern a resident may have.  The Resident Ambassador works closely with the Administrative team to ensure all residents are happy and the care is up to our expectations.
  • I would also like to take this time to inform you that Linda Legall, RN, DNS resigned. Our new Director of Nursing Services is Deidre Cozzo, RN.  Deidre held the position as the Director of Staff Development and has been promoted to this very important role.  Deidre came to us with an extensive background in long term care and as a previous Director of Nursing Services.

We have ordered additional tablets for our residents to use for virtual visits, games, tele-health visits, news updates, etc. as this activity is quite popular.  Many of our residents are enjoying learning how to use this technology and having the world at their fingertips.

As always, thank you for your patience and our entire team extends our warm wishes for a happy and healthy New Year!  Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
